Advantages to InternetDirect to the Internet

With InternetDirect  you get all these great features:
No dialing
No phone lines
Security for your network
Each user gets simultaneous, instant Internet access
Each user gets an email account
Ability to lower Westlaw charges
High speed, real time connection to the Internet

No dialing.  You don’t have to go through the hassle of setting up a dialup connection, no more troubleshooting modems and dialup connections, no more waiting for modem to dial, connect and login.  Best of all, no more busy signals.  Your connection is always live.

Save money on phone lines.   Saving you $60-80/month that you would have to spend on an extra analog phone line.  Or free up those fax lines you’re using now for Internet access.

VPN.  Virtual Private Networking options.  By using the Internet you can create a secure connection to your network.  Having the ability to log onto your network from anywhere in the world with dial-up access.  Cutting down on long distance calling costs.

Give ALL your computers Internet access.  Instead of just having one Internet workstation, you can hook up your whole office with just one Internet Direct connection.  Every computer that is on the network will be able to access the Internet.

Internet E-mail accounts for everyone.  Every person in your office who is connected to us will have an email address.  They will no longer have to remember to dial out to get their email every day, it will automatically appear on their desktop seconds after it is sent.

Ability to lower Westlaw charges.  No more paying for extra minutes waiting to download those important documents.  With Direct Connection you have access to a dedicated T-1 connection.  An example of how fast a T-1 connection is, a 56k modem connection would take 2 minutes to download a 1mb file, whereas a T-1 would take only 6 seconds.

Difference between ADSL and Frame Relay  and what “CIR” means.  CIR is short for committed information rate, a specified amount of guaranteed bandwidth (measured in bits per second).  Dependent on the level of ADSL service you purchase, you are guaranteed a CIR by the telephone company providing your service.  The difference between ADSL and frame relay service is that a much higher rate of CIR is available and guaranteed by the telephone company with frame relay service than with ADSL.  In addition, ADSL is not yet available in all areas of Hawaii, whereby, according to GTE, frame relay is available.
